Tuesday Teaster! Caged Chapter 4!

Are ya ready for a teaser?  Here's a little excerpt from Caged Chapter 4, which will post this Friday at 10pm Eastern Time!

“Pretty cool, huh?”  I gave her a half smile and raised my eyebrows at her.  My heart was pounding, and I felt a slight chill against the naked skin of my chest.

“That’s where you fight?” Bella asked.  Her eyes were opened wide as she stared into the enclosed space.

“Yeah, it is,” I replied.  Something about her tone seemed off, and I took a slight step back away from her.  I leaned on a nearby barstool and watched her, feeling a little wary now.  “What do you think?”

“I thought it would be…bigger,” she said.  “There isn’t even any room for you to move in there.”

“There’s plenty of room,” I told her.  “I can move around pretty easily in tight places.”

The words were out of my mouth before I could stop them.

“Nice,” Tanya piped up before I could try to take back the words.  She walked out from around the edge of the cage and came over to us.  “Edward’s finally admitting size matters, huh?”

I glared at her. 

“Not something I’ve ever worried about too much,” I replied coldly.  My earlier annoyance with her returned, and I cocked my head to one side as I looked up at her with a what the fuck do you want expression.

Tanya wasn’t fazed.  She looked from me to Bella and back again.

“Is this her?” she asked.  “The girl whose virtue you saved?”

Sorry about that.  Well, not really.  I should have time this afternoon or this evening to write some more, so there should be another update tonight.  Hang in there!

I'm trying to get my house picked up in time for my daughter's birthday party.  I'm all worried about it, because pretty much no one has RSVPed except one negative.  I hate that.  It's a sleepover, so she only invited a handful of kids, and now I'm freaking out thinking no one will end up being able to come over and she'll be all upset.  I don't know if I should warn her so she's prepared, or if that will just make her worry all day.  Gah!  It goes back to childhood (well, college days) trauma when I threw a party and no one showed up. :(

I watched the opening ceremony for the Olympics last night.  Some nice surprises/cameos there, especially Rowan Atkinson, which cracked me up, and Beckham driving the boat with the torch.  Very impressive!

Tuesday Teaser! Caged Chapter 3!

“Evil Eye fights again!” Paul roared out in greeting.  I fist-bumped with him, then went back to nursing my beer.  A few minutes later, Sam cocked his head to one side to point at the door, and I followed him out for a smoke.

“Word on the street says you fucked up some guys on your way home the other night.”

“Oh yeah?” I said, raising my brow as I lit up.  “Who said that?”

“One of the guys you fucked up.”

I laughed and took a deep drag.

“He came in here last night saying Evil Eye Cullen broke his nose,” Sam told me.  “He thought that as his employer, Jasper ought to pay for it.”

“Oh yeah?” I said again.  “What did Jasper do?”

“Had me break one of his fingers.”

I Like Different

Need a story rec?  @JustRobin_ff has an interesting twist on the usual fanfic.  See the story from both sides, but not in the way you might have seen before with the traditional POV switch.  Bella's all about the words, Edward is all about the pictures.  And for the love of all that's holy, these pics are not for viewing when the younguns are in the room!

Caged Update at 10pm Eastern Tonight!

I'm doing the fabulous work overnight thing tonight, then going to another college visit first thing in the morning, and then a party tomorrow night.  I may not update much of anything else until Sunday evening. :)

“How do you even carry that thing around?” I asked.

“What?”

“That…that purse-bag-thingy there,” I said, pointing and shaking my finger at it.  I wouldn’t have admitted it, but the whole idea of the thing scared me, and I wasn’t sure why.  I felt like if I got too close to it I might get sucked in, never to be seen again.  “It’s insane.”

Her eyes became little slits as she looked up to me.

“There is nothing wrong with my purse!” she growled.

“It’s huge,” I said.

“It has everything I need in it.”

“It has everything you and ten of your friends could need for a week,” I replied with a laugh.  “I know there are people who carry Chihuahuas in their purse, but you could fit a Dane in there.”

My Daughter Found a Dinosaur!

No kidding!  She's on an extended trip with her grandparents to various places out in the Western US to go on dinosaur digs, and her very first day out she found the rib bone of a Camarasaurus!  It's a fairly common dinosaur, but it's still awesome.  It will take some time to dig around and see how much of it there is, but if there is enough to reconstruct it, it will be named after her.  How cool is that?

In other news, Caged premiered on Friday.  Hope you all enjoyed it!  Win Some, Lose Some also updated.  I have no idea what I'm going to get accomplished today, but you'll probably see WSLS update today ot tomorrow.  Originally I planned on updating Caged twice a week, but I can already tell that isn't going to happen, so it will be updating Fridays at 10pm eastern.

Without gloves, closed fists hurt my hands almost as much as they hurt his face, but that didn’t stop me from switching to them.  I could feel blood on my fingers, but I wasn’t sure if it was from my knuckles or his battered nose.

“It’s been almost ten years.”
“Fuck him,” I replied.  I could feel all my muscles tense from top to bottom – my shoulders, my arms, my back, my legs – all in a ripple down my body.
“You were a kid then.”
“Old enough to be thrown out on the street, apparently.”
“He regrets that,” Aro stated.
“My ass,” I growled.  “He’s pissed off he couldn’t see into the future, that’s his only regret.”

Why are foot scrubs peppermint?

I mean really?  Why?  I like a good foot scrub as much as the next person, but who decided peppermint was for feet, and why the heck did they decide that.  Peppermint makes me think of candy canes.  Candy canes makes me think of Christmas trees.

I'm not sure I want my feet to remind me of Christmas trees.

That said, my feet and nice and soft now after scrubbing them with some peppermint foot scrub.
