Soccer, soccer, soccer...

This weekend has been spent with soccer tournaments in 95 degree heat.  Worse for the kids than me, but it's still darn hot!  My son's team has made  it to the final, though the mood is a little dampened by one of their teammates breaking a leg in the last game yesterday.  He'll be all right, but still a nasty way for the game to end.  I am now up at an ungodly hour, and I shall be out on the field at 8:00am today for the last game.  Wish them luck!

Irony is an interesting thing

As I may have mentioned, or you probably figured out for yourself, I am very much a creature of habit.  The other day when the cat decided to gnaw through my headphone cord in the middle of the night, I couldn't get back to sleep sleep.  I always sleep with headphones on, and I ended up getting out of bed and immediately ordering a new pair.  The past two nights, I've barely slept, of course.  Now today my new headphones arrived...and I have to work at 2:00am.

That's irony.

Duct Tape Daffodil!

Isn't this the coolest thing? :)

My son made me this duct tape daffodil for Mother's Day.

Happy Mother's Day!

I hope all the moms out there are getting some recognition today, and all the kids and dads are thinking about how much the moms in their lives do for them!  I know how much I appreciate my mom!

We'll probably be heading to the aquarium today, which is likely to be jam packed, and then maybe go do some go-cart racing.  I like picking "non-traditional" moms day things because 1) I like them better and 2) the crowds tend to be a little less! :)

Other things planned for today - get the next Win Some, Lose Some chapter out and convince someone else to do the laundry!

Playing Catch Up

It never seems to really work, despite any efforts.  I will commit inside my head to (for instance) catch up on my PMs, or emails, or laundry, or whatever - but I never seem to manage to get everything done I set out to get done.  Ah well.  Such is the life of working mother, yes?

Speaking on PMs (on Fanfiction) - if you have sent me one in the past...oh...six weeks or so, I apologize.  I'm trying to catch up on them now. ;)

Have a wonderful weekend everyone!

Release the Kraken!

I have been dying to use that phrase lately.  It just fit.  Now I have to figure out how to work Cthulhu into a story.  Might have to play a little Age of Mythology as well.

My son got all his hair cut off for Locks of Love yesterday.  He's hating the short hair, but I think he looks adorable.  No pictures - he wouldn't hear of it.  He kept threatening to wear a hat all day.

The poor dog fell and looks like he tore a ligament.  Almost certainly means surgery, and the poor thing is just miserable.  He's headed to the vet now for x-rays to confirm.

Busy week so far, even though I am officially unemployed (I quit my current job and don't start the new one until next Monday) for the time being.  I joined a walking club with Mr. Savage (10 miles per week!  Gah!), so of course it is going to rain all week.  Ha!

I don't know what I'm going to work on today, but I would suspect there will be another Win Some, Lose Some update at some point today.
