Teaser Tuesday - UC Chapter 11

Here we go! Teaser Tuesday! With any luck, the next chapter will post either Thursday night or Friday morning - I'll be out of town all weekend and I have no idea if I'll have internet access or not. I at least hope to post before I leave, but if it's Friday after 3:00pm EST and you don't see anything, it won't be up until Sunday.

Anyone in the Knoxville area what to come freeze your ass off at a soccer tournament with me?? LOL

First off - new banner by Liliana, which is just BEAUTIFUL!

And now for the teaser! Only slightly evil this week...

“What happened to Angela’s parents?”

“She came from a farming family, and her father was killed when his cart tipped over. Her mother couldn’t work the farm on her own, though Angela tried to help as much as she could. When the Lord of the farmland came to collect the grain she was supposed to supply, it wasn’t ready for him. Angela ended up being brought back to the castle, since Jessica really needed more than one handmaid by then.”

“Why was she brought back?” Edward asked.

I looked over to him, confused.

“The grain wasn’t ready when the Lord came to collect it,” I repeated.

“Yes, you told me that.” Edward scowled. “But why was Angela taken from her mother?”

“The Lord punished her mother,” I said.

“By taking her daughter? Why?”

“He didn’t take Angela from her mother,” I said. My eyes narrowed in confusion. He had to understand what the punishment was for failing your Lord.

“Well, what then?” he demanded.

“The grain wasn’t ready, Edward. He killed Angela’s mother as an example to the other farmers.”

If he keeps this up, he just might get a clue... :)

  1. Awesome teaser! I hope you'll be able to post before the weekend but I can wait if need be. I hope through their communications they will come to understand one another. Yes, Edward is somewhat thick, but Bella is not making things easy for him. Esme's mandate forces each of them to go outside their comfort zone and share personal things with one another. I look forward to seeing how their relationship will grown and develop. It will make their intimate moments more fulfilling.

Tangent - Are you heading to Knoxville or from around there? I'm moving there this summer and can't wait. It will definitely be a change, but I'm excited for a new adventure :o)

  2. Great teaser!! I guess if you were raised in Aro's kingdom it would be a little hard to comprehend Edwards lack of understanding. I think it will take time because of the way he was raised to understand Bella's concerns with royalty.

  3. You know you love a story when...

You practically run to the computer because you forgot it was "Teaser Tuesday" and it's probably been up for a while.

You tell your husband that "he'll be FINE" when you push his butt off the computer seat and he has a broken leg.

You tell your four year old - "Mommy has something VERY important to do and it's okay if he plays with the non-washable markers."

You are already making plans to stay up late Thursday night JUST in case the story is posted then.

And last and not least - concerned that Savage may not work on the story this weekend and have it up in time for next Friday because she'll be out of town and busy. (you know you can work on a word document without an internet connection- right????) I am sure you can work while traveling to Knoxville - if you get car sick it will pass - I promise! If not - THEN after you post you can complain all you want.

hee hee - AKA love your story and anxiously waiting for your update :-)

  5. LOL! Wish the anon with the Hub-broken-leg would identify herself. She and I are Savage-addicted!

Middle Ages brutality is not the stuff of fiction. Serfs were nothing. Women were even lower.

  8. Wow! No wonder she's always freaking out thinking he's going to kill her for any little mistake! They may have been a carriage ride apart in distance, but in life, they are definitely worlds apart.
