Hide and Drink - book 2 or just keep going?

So I announced that Hide and Drink was coming to a close (just 2-3 chapters away), and that there would be a book two. Now I'm wondering - why bother ending the one? Does it need a "book two," or should I just keep going under the same story name?

My reason for ending Hide and Drink is because it's coming to the point where I originally intended it end. My reason for book two is you, the fans of the story, wanting more. That being the case, maybe I should just let it keep going as the same story. It will be a continuation of the plot, so why bother creating a whole second book?

Anyway - I'm torn and can't decide. Let me know what you think in a comment! I need a good Domward to tell me what I should do next. ;)

  1. Okay I ended a fic at 100 chapters once and ended up getting dragged into doing a sequel, which in my opinion, sucks whore booty. I am ready to get rid of it and wish now I had never done it. So...if you have a way to keep going on Hide and Drink I would continue that OR end it. I love it and would hate to see it go but if it is finished, it is finished. Just one writer to another...

    Hope that helped.

  2. i just dealt with this same dilemma with my fic last week! i chose to do a sequel, because it gave me an opportunity to make a new banner & it could end up being something 'sophisticated', like a fucking trilogy or something lol. definitely do a sequel, sweets!

  3. I think if there is a definite conclusion to the issues in the first story (what is wrong with Boobward), or if you have a new specific issue for them to tackle, then make a book two. Otherwise keep it as one story.

But honestly, don't just write for the sake of writing. The story is awesome so far but I don't want it to be filled with a bunch of plotless stuff just for the sake of having more.

Love you and love Boobward!! <3 <3 <3

  4. Book 2 definitely is a good idea. Too many chapters are confusing after a time so, I think you should do what you originally wanted to. ---> Another good reason for book 2.

I kind of think going onto book 2 without real intentions to will be a mistake. You'll just be writing not because you're inspired, but because someone else is asking you to. I would go on to something else you're thinking about writing, and then maybe along the way you'll be inspired to continue to book 2, and you will. I, personally, just really hope to see a stronger Edward by the end of this book. I must admit, I'm reallllly not a fan of this whiny/clingy Edward. He started annoying me a while back. Lol

  6. Honey i'll be honest with you, your story is fuckawasome! And i think it deserves an ending that has the same level of epicness as the rest of it did. There are several writers out there that prolong stories just for the sake of it or to increase their number of reviews and end up dragging the whole plot to the trash. If i had to choose i wold like you to continue with Hide and Drink but don't prolong it unless it's really necessary. If it's over, it's over, move on and write the next one, which i know will be just as amazing. Hope my rambling helped...LOL

  7. Okay, I love H&D... I definitely don't want to see it go... but as an author... I can promise you that if your heart isn't in it, people will know. It will show in your writing and it'll drive you nuts.

Do yourself a favor and write a LONG epilogue OR continue H&D for a few more chapters or even several epilogues... but don't get yourself wrapped into a sequel if Sandbella and Boobward's story is over.

  8. I think a second book would be a good idea. doing it from another POV would be a good way to change thing up for you. of course, its however you want to do it. I know that i would love to read more.

  9. who doesn't need Domward?..lol..i didn't quietly understand why this story should be split into two books...whatever.. i just don't want it coming to the end because it seems like there are no less than ten- fifteen chapters to come. the plot is intriguing, the story is interesting and well written, great sense of humor...it has everything i need. please, don't abandon it! waiting for more.

  11. For me, I like the idea of Book 2 with new and different name. Just to give it's own identity and uniqueness. But actually, to tell you the truth, I read anything you write. Anything.

  12. I would continue adding to the current story. It sounds like you have your thoughts together on where E & B's story is going so is there a need to stop and start a new story? But if you need a break then you may want to end it at a point that lets it be open to continuation. But I love your Edward. He is adorkable and I still look forward to each update.

  13. I think keep going until a natural end, no need for two separate stories if its the continuation of the same plot :D
