Haven't Bought Otherwise Alone?

Buy quick, before the price goes up!

Amazon Kindle publishing is a funny thing.  They definitely make it very difficult for you to do business with anyone else (like B&N, Sony, etc.).  I received a message from them basically saying "your price is too low on another site and you'll have to lower your list price on Amazon, too." The thing is, you can't lower it below $2.99 on Amazon and still be eligible for the Kindle lending library and agreeing to losing half your royalties.  So, since I have (literally) sold one copy of Otherwise Alone OUTSIDE of Amazon, I'm going to revert back to Amazon exclusive publishing.  That means it won't be available anywhere else, and the price jumps back up to $2.99 instead of a buck.  Sorry about that, but I'm not left with many options.  I'll plan on making it free again in the near future (when Otherwise Occupied is out) in case anyone misses out.

Blog Neglect!

Wow - no new posts in almost a month!  That has to be a new kind of (bad) record!  It's possible I'm officially over committed!  So what all is happening?

Writing stuff:

Surviving Raine releases on May 21 - that's right!  Just 10 days away!  Come join us for giveaways and such at the Facebook release party!  I'm very excited about it.  There have been several nice reviews on Goodreads already!

The other major project on my plate - Otherwise Occupied, the sequel to Otherwise Alone.  I'm very happy to say the actual writing is done!  Yay!  Going through iterations of edits now and writing a short epilogue.  There will DEFINITELY be a third book as well!  Watch for a cover reveal and release date announcement in the next couple of weeks!

Not What She Seems - pathetic update schedule, I know. To top it all off, I totally left you hanging.  I hope to rectify that and get back to regular posts soon.  Other stuff has just been in the way.

Personal life stuff:

My son graduates from high school in a couple of weeks, and I'm trying to wrap my head around that.  I have the feeling in need to buy a convertible or some other midlife-crisis worthy vehicle.  We're right smack in the middle of soccer season as well, which always keeps me busy even when I'm not coaching.  Heading off to my daughter's game in a few minutes, and then to see the Columbus Crew tonight!

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

Surviving Raine

What's Going On?

It's harder to keep everyone updated when you don't have a regularly posting story like Caged going on weekly.  If you are on Facebook, make sure you join the group here to get the latest updates on stories and such.  You can also like my author page on Facebook to stay in touch.  For those who are not, I will try to get people informed here. :)

Surviving Raine is getting very close to being ready.  Just a few more things to get done before a release date is announced, so watch for that!

Not What She Seems - should update today.  I'm going to try to get on myself about updating it at least twice a week.  Feel free to harass me!

Otherwise Alone is now $0.99 on Amazon and Smashwords, so go grab it before the sequel comes out!

Otherwise Occupied - I'm very pleased with the progress so far.  I would say the writing is about 2/3rds of the way done.  If there weren't 5000 other things going on in life right now, I'd probably have it done by the end of the month.  That's still my target, though.  The good news for readers is part of the delay is due to having it longer than originally anticipated.  It's not an epic long story like Caged or Unexpected Circumstances, but it's actual novel length.  It should be 12 chapters all together.

I hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend!

Back From Vacation and Ready for a Rest!

Why do I always feel like I need a vacation after vacation??

I have been so scatterbrained lately, which is usually a sign that I have been trying to do too much.  I've been trying to back off and slow down, but I also enjoy that frantic pace like the masochist that I am, so whenever things slow down I just pile more on top of myself.  Now I have a list three pages long, and I don't know where to start!!

So, general update stuff.

Caged is done, in case you missed it.  It was definitely a fun one, and Cageward will be missed!

Not What She Seems should update a couple times a week now.  I know, it's not daily, but hopefully it will be somewhat regular.  This week may still be up in the air as I recover from vacation and do a little work travel later in the week.

I spent all of last week in Chicago, vacationing with my family and researching the area for Otherwise Occupied. I visited the apartments where Evan Arden lives, checked out the park where he walks Odin, and found a lot of other good spots for him to hang out and do his dirty work. It was a lot of fun, and very educational! Chicago is a fantastic city, and I can't wait to go back in June for the Twi Fic Meet Up!

Otherwise Occupied is chugging along. I have a lot of new, specific material to add to it after my visit. Several people have asked about the length of the story, since Otherwise Alone was a short novella. Otherwise Occupied will be a full length novel, don't worry about that! Consider Otherwise Alone the prelude to what will end up being a series of books.

Hope everyone who celebrates it had a wonderful Easter Weekend!

Vacation!

I really do love traveling.  I guess that means I haven't done enough of it, because most people I know who travel a lot don't care for it too much any more.  This time, travel is with the family which has its own set of challenges and benefits.  I love having everyone together and exploring a new place, but there is always the conflict of where to go next when people can't agree.  So far, the only arguments have been over the sleeping arrangements.

We are hanging in Chicago for the next week, staying at the Omni (which is simply gorgeous), and checking out all the museums and sites around the city.  It's supposed to snow today, but it doesn't look like it at the moment.  Regardless, there are plenty of things to do in the Magnificent Mile, so I'm not too concerned.

I like to use at least some of my vacation time getting some writing done - usually in the mornings like this before anyone else is up.  I've got a NWSS update that's almost done, and then I'll be doing some work on Otherwise Occupied, which is set in Chicago.  I have some recon to do in the areas where Evan Arden lives, which isn't far from here.  It should be fun and hopefully inspirational.

Have a wonderful weekend all!

Who is Ready for the Weekend?

I know I am!  This week has been crazy between work issues and a sick kid (she is doing better today - thanks to those who have asked!).  I have been doing a lot of catch up today, and will likely be doing that all weekend.

First up - Otherwise Alone is FREE on Amazon all day!  Go get one!

Caged Epilogue will post at 10pm EDT tonight.  Yep, this is it, folks.  I don't have any outtakes, future-takes, or anything else for this story.  This should pretty much be the end of it.  It's been a long time since it started.  The Friday night posting schedule was a lot of fun, but challenging!  I hope you all enjoyed it!

I will begin updating Not What She Seems more regularly again after this weekend.

Otherwise Occupied, the sequel to Otherwise Alone, is coming along nicely.  I hope to get caught up on where I wanted to be with it this weekend.  I think y'all will enjoy it when it's done. :)

Have a great weekend!

If Sunday is for Relaxing, why am I so Busy?

I always seem to have the most going on during Sundays.  What's up with that?  Aside from the laundry, dishes, growling at my daughter to clean out the gerbil cage, and growling at my son to work on his calculous homework, I hope to do some actual writing-type work!

Surviving Raine editing is in full swing, and I've been making lots of corrections to it this weekend.  I don't know exactly when it will be done/released, but I'm sure I will keep you all informed!  Once I get through a few more chapters of editing, I plan to do a little work on Otherwise Occupied, then the Caged epilogue, and then (if I haven't fallen over), maybe even get a chapter of Not What She Seems out.  The last one there is kind of unlikely - I just have too much on my plate right now.

Oh - I need a new candle for my desk, too.  The one that smelled like tropical drinks has burned itself to the ground.

At some point I hope to have time for breakfast.

Have a wonderful day, all!

Happy Mother's Day to the UK moms out there!

Tuesday Teaser - Caged Chapter 33!

I didn't forget what day it is, and I'm actually on time with the next chapter!  Woo hoo!  If I keep this up, I'm going to be back on track all together, just in time to end the story.

The next chapter will be on time, and then an epilogue will follow shortly after.  Since the epi will be shorter than normal chapter length, let me know if you'd rather have the epi as soon as it's done or wait until the following Friday.

My nose nuzzled against the top of her head, and I sniffed the soft, downy hair around her crown as I pulled the blanket up around her shoulders.  My fingers graced over the top of her head, careful over the soft spot there, and down across her cheek as I sniffed again.  She smelled fantastic.

I didn’t know what it was about her, but she always smelled great.  Well, except when her diaper needed to be changed, but even that wasn’t near as bad as I had always been led to believe.  Supposedly it was going to get worse when she started eating other foods, but changing diapers wasn’t the big deal everyone made it out to be.

I said that to my mom, and she just smiled and shook her head.

As much as Baby Alice liked the boob, I didn’t see the real food happening for a while.  Bella went through so much cracked and achy nipple pain in the beginning, but now it was completely effortless for both of them.  Baby Alice would latch on and go to town, and Bella would hardly notice except that she had to flip her shirt up to do it.

Baby Alice yawned and big, toothless yawn, and then rested her head against the center of my chest.  Next to Bella’s tits, it was her favorite place to be.  Her big, brown eyes blinked a few times before closing completely.

With one arm wrapped underneath her butt, and the other one around her back, I settled back against the back of the chair and closed my eyes as well.  It was good to get some rest, even though I knew it wasn’t going to last very long.  Baby Alice was comfortable, warm, and content on my chest, and I was thrilled to have her there.

She was going to grow out of being a baby long before I was going to grow tired of her being one.

Awww...Daddyward!  Ain't they cute?
